Want to be more involved in downtown??

Promotions/Events Committee (PC)

The PC is actively reviewing the events that the GVDA is involved with. Currently, PC has reviewed the Grass Valley Car Show, Sierra Festival of the Arts and has been looking at Sidewalk Sale, Thursday Night Market Place and Cornish Christmas. Taste of the Gold Country, September 20 was reviewed and the ticket price was changed from $25 to $30 pre sale and $30 to $35 at the event. There was also great involvement in the 4th of July during the challenges of with the Federal Firefighters.The Promotion Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at Coffee Town at 8:30 a.m.

 

Design Committee (DC)

 The DC works is responsible for clean and safe image, banners, flags, signage and the look of the downtown. They worked hard on the increased Historical District with regulations that make less imposing to paint buildings and remove valances or other building wraps that are not appropriate for the historical district. They are working on design and installation of a large banner at the intersection of Bank Street at So. Auburn, Parking Lot signage and reviewing the progress of the mural. The DC is also trying to acquire historical artifacts for the downtown.

 The DC has set its next clean-up day for August 5 at 8:30. All involved could meet on Mill Street near W. Main for supplies and coffee. Design Committee meets the 2nd Thurs of each month at South Pine Café at 8:30 a.m.

 

Economic Restructuring Committee (ER)

 The ER committee action plan calls for review and ways to recruit businesses to vacant spaces. ER also works with the City of Grass Valley on a variety of planning processes and was a major vacillator of the Downtown Strategic Plan, the Downtown Parking Plan and the South Auburn Street Specific Plan.  The Economic Restructuring Committee meets the third Tuesday of each month Pacific Land Enterprises 4 pm

 

Organization Committee

This committee is the financial and agenda setting body of the organization,The Budget is developed and reviewed by this committee as well as general grievances, which generally end up at the full Board of Directors meeting. The Organization Committee works with the adhoc Marketing Committee to develop flow and cohesion throughout the organization.The Organization Committee meets the 3rd Thurs. of each month at Tofanelli’s Restaurant at 8:30 a.m.
