The Atomic Lounge 129 Neal Street has quickly become a destination for comic book fans young and old. Located at 129 Neal Street next to the Del Oro Theater in downtown grass valley. Owner Alex Guy said that the stores popularity has continued to grow despite the rough economic times because many parents have found that comics are a cheap source of entertainment, with the newest issues only costing around three dollars and many older titles available for a dollar or less. Alex also states that many adults tell him that it is a joy to see their children reading at all. The store itself has a unique feel with many interesting items that even non comic book fans can enjoy. In mid February to celebrate the must-anticipated release of the WATCHMEN movie in theaters look for sales as well as promotions, Alex said it would be a big event at his store.
