Del Oro Mural
The Del Oro Mural Project continues progress. Artist John Pugh (www.illusion-art.com) has begun to paint the mural at his studio and expects to place on the building by June 2008. The mural depicts the history of mining, the confluence or our water resources as well as our greatest resource the "community of great hearts" of Nevada County.
The Del Oro Mural will cost $60,000 for the artwork and approximately $10,000 for coating the exterior of the theater and lighting. The Committee has raised over $41,000 (end of year 2007). If you could please help make this a broader community effort we would appreciate your contribution. Contributions of $250 or larger will be etched on a plaque to be placed under the mural on the Neal Street facade. Donations will be listed in $5,000, $2,500,$1,000,$500 and $250 categories; VISA and Mastercard accepted!
