Welcome to

Downtown Grass Valley

The Official Grass Valley Downtown Association (GVDA) site. The GVDA is a National Main Street (MS) Program and a California Main Street Program. The GVDA was organized in 1981 and began using the MS program in 1984. It was officially certified in 1986 by the National program and has continued to use the Four Point approach and the Eight Guiding Principles. The program has been a stable and responsive way to keep the downtown vital and on track for over twenty years.

The following pages will take you on a tour of one of the Sierra Foothill's most popular Gold Rush towns... historic downtown Grass Valley, California. You will get a glimpse of our unique stores, lodging, local wine tasting rooms, and world-class restaurants & entertainment. Our events are a mainstay in Nevada County. Variety is what we offer to locals and visitors alike. Nestled amongst the trees,  this circa 1800 Gold Rush era town offers a window into the past while providing the

best the present has to offer.
